1. Policy Statement
JATRA (Jurnal Teknologi dan Riset Terapan) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics. The journal takes allegations of research misconduct seriously and handles all reports fairly, confidentially, and objectively.
Research misconduct may include, but is not limited to, fabrication or falsification of research data, plagiarism, inappropriate manipulation of images or research results, duplicate publication, improper attribution of authorship, and other practices that violate accepted standards of research integrity.
2. Reporting Allegations
Authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other parties may report suspected research misconduct to the editorial office of JATRA. Reports should provide sufficient information and supporting evidence to allow the allegation to be assessed.
Allegations may concern manuscripts under review, published articles, or other activities related to the journal's publication process.
3. Initial Assessment
Upon receiving an allegation, the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether the report is sufficiently credible and falls within the journal's responsibilities.
The journal may request additional information or supporting documentation when necessary. Allegations will not be considered proven solely on the basis of an unverified claim.
4. Investigation
When an allegation warrants further investigation, JATRA may contact the corresponding author, other relevant authors, their affiliated institutions, or other appropriate parties to obtain clarification and evidence.
The journal will provide the individuals concerned with a reasonable opportunity to respond. Investigations will be conducted impartially, with due consideration for confidentiality, fairness, and the rights of all parties involved.
Where appropriate, JATRA may refer the matter to the relevant institution or research organization, particularly when a formal investigation of research conduct is required.
5. Possible Actions
Depending on the seriousness of the misconduct and the findings of the assessment or investigation, JATRA may take one or more of the following actions:
Any action will be proportionate to the nature and severity of the issue and supported by the available evidence.
6. Confidentiality and Protection Against Retaliation
JATRA will handle allegations and related information confidentially to the extent reasonably possible. Information will be shared only with individuals or organizations that need it to assess or investigate the allegation.
The journal does not tolerate retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Deliberately false or malicious allegations may be addressed appropriately.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Any editor involved in an allegation who has a potential conflict of interest will be excluded from handling the matter. An independent editor or other appropriate party may be appointed to ensure an impartial assessment.
8. Record Keeping
JATRA will maintain appropriate records of allegations, relevant communications, evidence, decisions, and actions taken, subject to applicable confidentiality requirements and data protection obligations.
9. Ethical Guidance
JATRA seeks to handle allegations of research misconduct in accordance with recognized publication ethics principles and relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
For inquiries or to report suspected research misconduct, please contact the editorial office through the official contact details provided on the JATRA website.
