Humans can immediately recognize and define an object after seeing and recording an object. This is different from computer visual systems, where camera recordings cannot be directly translated, defined, and recognized by computers, therefore digital image processing is needed first. In this study, computer vision technology was used to detect fruit based on color, size, and shape in real time. The fruit is placed on a conveyor belt, then the fruit object is captured by a webcam using object tracking. Computer vision algorithms and programs can detect fruit objects and recognize ripe and unripe fruits by converting RGB (Red, Green, Blue) colors into HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) for the color segmentation process. After the detection process, a selector is placed at the end of the conveyor which is used to sort the fruit into 2 categories, namely ripe and unripe. In addition, this study also determines the size and shape of the fruit. From design, realization, and testing, it was found that the success rate of detecting ripe fruit was 97.33% and unripe fruit was 93.33%. To get maximum results, it needs to be supported by room lighting settings that are kept constant.
Illa Aryeni Hana Mutialif Maulidiah Handri Toar Muhammad Jaka Wimbang Wicaksono Indra Gunawan ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2023-12-22 2023-12-22 7 2 61 66 10.30871/jaee.v7i2.6740 Internet of Things Based SCADA System https://jurnal.polibatam.ac.id/index.php/JAEE/article/view/6415
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control on PLCs generally cannot be controlled by IoT via the IoT platform. Therefore, in this study, a PLC-based SCADA control was created which will be displayed on the web. The PLC used in this system is Schneider TM241CE24R, and controlling the IoT system by utilizing the ESP32 module as an intermediary. For communication between the ESP32 and the PLC and Power meter devices, the Modbus RTU communication protokol is used where data will be processed on ESP32 before sending data to the server. The SCADA monitoring system uses the web with Node.JS as the server side and Express.JS as the framework, and uses Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) as the communication protokol between ESP32 and the server. System testing consists of communication between the PLC and the Power meter to ESP32, ESP32 communication to Node.JS, testing the delay in sending data from the web to the PLC device, testing the delay in sending PLC to the web and testing packet loss in sending data using the Wireshark software. The results of this research can make it easier for SCADA systeMS that use RS485 as a communication that can be monitored in realtime, the average delay response time on PLC and Power meter communication devices to the web is 0.3 seconds when connected to the good internet and the average delay response time of 0.5-1 second when the internet is bad and this system can be accessed anywhere as long as this device is connected to the internet.
Hernan S Idris Agung Saputra Indra Hardian Mulyadi ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2023-12-22 2023-12-22 7 2 67 75 10.30871/jaee.v7i2.6415 Reducing Coating Defects by Implementing Auto Dripping System on The Finishing Machine https://jurnal.polibatam.ac.id/index.php/JAEE/article/view/6722
Finishing Process is one of the most important processes in the manufacture of resistors, because it is the process of forming the resistor body by coating the resistor with a coating liquid. However, in this process there are still many cases of product defects, one of the main causes is the uncontrolled viscosity of the coating liquid causing the formation of body resistors is not good, or what is called Body deform and body thin defects. Auto Dripping is a useful tool for automatically dripping methanol liquid which aims to control the viscosity of the coating liquid in the finishing process. Because Auto Dripping is a tool that has just been implemented and does not yet have the right parameter settings, it is necessary to do trials to find the right parameters so that Auto Dripping functions properly. In Auto Dripping there are two settings that can be controlled, namely Stroke Speed and Stroke Length, these two settings affect the output of methanol liquid that comes out. In this study using SPC tools to analyze the parameters being tested, namely the Control Chart which is used to monitor the stability of a process and study process changes from time to time. then, in this study also used the Process Capability Analysis method. This method is very effective in viewing the performance of a process, is used to measure process capability by comparing its distribution with the distribution of specifications accurately and provides a clearer picture. After carrying out this project, the authors concluded that the implementation of the Auto Dripping set up parameter has proven to be quite influential in reducing the case of coating defects caused by uncontrolled viscosity, namely by maintaining the stability of the coating viscosity so that it can produce resistors that meet specifications. From the data above, the production of resistors has been running stably with a period of 5 weeks, with 100 resistor samples being measured. With an average value of 2.82 mm. As for the Cpk value after implementing the new parameter setup, which is 3.35, this is a high result and meets the standard, which is ≥1.5.
Vivin Octowinandi Fadli Firdaus Muhammad Arifin Hana Mutialif Maulidiah Muhammad Iqbal ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2023-12-22 2023-12-22 7 2 76 82 10.30871/jaee.v7i2.6722 Omni-directional Movement on the MRT PURVI Ship Robot https://jurnal.polibatam.ac.id/index.php/JAEE/article/view/6475
Ship transportation is the primary mode of trade and transportation at sea in the maritime industry. Initially, humans employed ships as a method of pursuing and capturing fish or animals in aquatic environments. As the ship era progresses, it actively engages in all aspects pertaining to ships. Presently, the ship is propelled by its engine, which is a significant improvement over its initial reliance on wood or oars. In addition to engines, propellers are employed to transform the rotational motion of the engine into propulsive force in the marine environment. Propellers are also present on aircraft, serving the same purpose but positioned at various locations in the air. A thruster is a hybrid device that combines an engine and a propeller. This sort of thruster is specifically designed for use on tiny boats or prototypes, for the purpose of simulating, exhibiting, or participating in contests. ESC is a component that facilitates the alteration of the input value to the intended velocity. In addition to their primary function of fulfilling food requirements, ships are presently employed in diverse capacities, including military vessels, tourist vessels, submarines, passenger ships, and more.
Ryan Satria Wijaya Aldi Kaputra Naufal Abdurrahman Prasetyo Hendawan Soebhakti Senanjung Prayoga Anugerah Wibisana Rifqi Amalya Fatekha Eko Rudiawan Jamzuri Mochamad Ari Bagus Nugroho ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2023-12-22 2023-12-22 7 2 83 90 10.30871/jaee.v7i2.6475 Green Coal Machine: Innovative Solution for Processing Organic Soil Enhancer from Compost and Coal Testing Waste https://jurnal.polibatam.ac.id/index.php/JAEE/article/view/6775
The Eco Green Campus Program adopted by Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) aims to create a campus that is sustainable and environmentally friendly with a focus on cultivating healthy organic soil. However, tillage Organic soil require organic materials which are quite expensive and difficult to obtain, such as organic fertilizer. Therefore, innovative solutions are needed through utilization of abundant local resources such as remaining coal samples with compost that called Green Coal which was made into quality organic soil enhancer. Coal has very complete nutrients and can be used as fertilizer. In addition, the use of coal as fertilizer can reduce the potential for degradation of the quality of agricultural land. In order to meet the needs in ITS parks, coal from the rest of the laboratory testing samples can also be used as a source of soil fertilizer. However, the results of the production is still lacking by number so sometimes the compost is applied though its still half ripe. To increase its effectiveness, organic compost waste is used as a soil conditioner through the use of coal. ITS has succeeded in developing a soil enhancer product named Green Coal from residual coal sample. However, the process of making Green Coal is done manually and is constrained by time constraints. Therefore, in this research, a 3-in-1 Green Coal machine was carried out to increase the efficiency of Green Coal production. The 3-in-1 Green Coal machine consists of a chopping machine, a sieving machine and a mixing machine in one machine so it can simplify processes, cost and time efficiency in the production process. The results of this research showed that a 3-in-1 Green Coal machine can produce 10 kg/minute of Green Coal soil enhancer products.
Lucky Putri Rahayu Vita Yuliana M.
